After weeks of deep, US Open length, rough, tee boxes and surrounds buried in grass, and generally miserable conditions here - many hours of Dixie Chopper ops across the acreage has revealed the golf course underneath. Scores are beginning to reflect the improving conditions... heck even the toughest little par 3 in the Catskills (#8) yielded pars for 20% of the field.
The top spot flipped once again with Mitch/Larry Hull regaining 1st place while Dustin/Mitch Van Keuren fell to Andrew/Dale 11-7. We're barely a quarter of the way through the schedule so there's plenty of time to move in the standings...
Today's observations: (1) Nobody likes to golf with someone (in competition, certainly) who doesn't know how to count. The arithmetic challenged among us are not welcome. If you need a clicker or beads or whatever to track your strokes, or if you have a partner who can't seem to keep track... well help yourself or help them. (2) a more important point... after you putt out please leave the green and proceed to the next tee - then have your conversation / discussion / argument while waiting for the group in front to putt out (and leave the green)

Jerrod Hubbell returned to play with Kenny J. and promptly grabbed near pin and the carryover on hole #8 ... 8' 10" for a $32 payoff ... next week we'll be on hole 2 where 37.5% of the skins field parred the 164 yard beastie. Andrew, Mitch H, and Mitch VK split the skins pot, AGAIN... pars continue to frequently win skins - take the hint and join skins to win skins...

Three players at net par or better ... more than half the field within 3 shots of net par - good to see and proof positive of a fair handicapping system?
