Week 1 is in the books in spite of the weather, the conditions, and the uncertainty of the makeup of the league itself. It was great seeing everyone - both our experienced league veterans and our new and returning golfers, too. In spite of the "rough" turf conditions we had several outstanding rounds and an almost hole in one, too! Mitch Hull started his year off with what else, a birdie chip in on his first hole of the season, then went on to shoot 7 additional pars that were only spoiled by a double bogie 5 on #5. Marshall Leal returned to league after a year hiatus and promptly shot a handicap busting 40 net 30. Dustin's new partner, longtime MGC golfer Mitch VanKeuren, also shot a net 30 (gross 41) ... Liam Miller, who substituted a few times during the 2024 season, almost aced the 6th hole when his tee shot struck the flag, penetrated the hole, then sadly bounced out to a mere 25" from the cup. Liam will be partnering with Gary Hessberger as team 9 starting next week.

There just was no keeping up with Mitch Hull today ... Larry tells me Mitch was one stroke better last year in week one.... eeesh.

Close match here... John/Bill pulled out to an early lead but gave it back on the final hole

Marshall posted a heck of a round but Dustin eked out a win with a fine 3 over par on the 7 par 3's. Mitch V. shot a handicap busting net +1 to leave Christian in his wake.

Welcome to the league Joe & Carlos... now that we've posted a match score for you both you'll be playing with 18 handicaps next week...
