Match 12 League Results

As we head to the last week of our league round robin we’ll then enter a three week finale where teams in first through fourth will play each other and our other nine teams will play three matches against random opponents… if you’d like to play one or more teams in particular do let me know and I’ll try to accommodate your request before I set up weeks 14-16 schedule… also: When we each decided to play league we all agreed to the following:

  • We play on Wednesdays after work – 4:30 PM is the “standard” starting time and if one wants to start earlier or can’t make it until later we should contact our team mate and our opponents
  • We have a list of substitutes who should be called as early as possible if you know that you can’t make your match – at least the day before if at all – inviting an “outsider” to substitute makes determining a handicap difficult (if they played matches here years ago), or impossible (if they have no scores in our league system)
  • If a substitute on the list can’t be confirmed then Average Arnie or Average Barney are the ghost substitutes that will “play” in your place – you are still responsible for your greens fees

We had 15 participants in near pin / skins yielding $30 / $45 pots respectively – Substitute Arthur Warren once again demonstrated his clutch accuracy on hole 6 with a tee shot to 12’9″ to grab the $30; two players divvied up the skins pot: Justin Callahan birdied tough hole #3 and substitute (and 2022 Master of the Meadows) Dylan Beaumont birdied the toughest little par 3 in the Catskills (#8) to take his $22.50 share of the pot

Dustin / Casey take one on the chin when both substitute Dylan Beaumont and Justin break net par – but Team 1 stays first place in what is now a really tight race
Kenny / Ron played near net par golf and went 4-2-3 to win big
Tony / Lou come from behind by sweeping the last two holes 16-0 to win a narrow 52-48 match
Ken / Lenny win big in a match closer than the final score indicated
The second 50-50 draw of the season… every stroke counted! Gary/Tom 16-0 wins on holes 5 and 6 evened up the match after losing 3 of the first 4 holes.
Nick (The Man) came through late to substitute for Florencio but couldn’t offset substitute Arthur Warren’s 32 net 27. Andrew played stroke for stroke with low handicap Mike Lor and won the net battle by 4 strokes to keep the match competitive.
Jamie / Chris win a close match where Bill Drew was a late MIA
