Temperatures might be a bit below average but this year’s edition of our Wednesday Men’s League is hotter than ever. For the first time we’ll be fielding 17 teams (and can accept an 18th into our schedule). Our 17 event season kicks off Wednesday with defending champs Dan Gulino and Richard McGlynn kicking off the season against the 2018 champs father and son Larry and Mitch Hull. Low (read 1 stroke) handicapper Mike Lor will play with a substitute this week (get well soon Nick Malaxos!) against young phenom and MCS golfer Thomas Chairvelotti and his partner (new member at MGC) Danny Eignor (our soon to be disc golf course architect). Thomas’ dad, Mike Chairvelotti pairs with his former Fall league partner Tim Maxim against Bill (TriTown) Drew and his new partner Skip Parcell. Original member Harry Saslow recruited retired MGC employee Hall of Fame member Brian Wheaton as his partner this season; they’ll play members Jan Joroff (first year in Men’s League) and his partner, member Lou Capello. Sand trap architects / builders Dustin Hall and Casey Sidorowicz welcome new league golfers Cody Rieder and member Owen Sanford to league competition. Long time leaguer and member (and veteran fishing guide) Lenny Millen teams up with new partner member Yvan Luxama versus third year leaguers James Williams and Richard (right hand man) Stokes. Gary (graphics and web guy) Hessberger teams up with former leaguer and member (welcome back!) Ron Kutkiewicz against veteran leaguers Bill Reed and Tom Squires. Another original leaguer Dan O’Neil convinced last year’s super sub Mike Rockwood to come onboard; they’ll play newcomer Jamie Wilson who was recruited by longtime leaguer Christopher Stevens. The first team to get it’s bye – they’ll play against the league average scores – we’ll be the team of Justin Callahan (one of last season’s leading point scorers) and Zach Golden.
