Summer is almost here… Wednesday’s weather and conditions were in the season’s top 10…

Today’s admin gripe – let’s get it over with. We play this game in foursomes. If the 2 teams aren’t complete then I’m of the opinion that you need to wait until all four of you are present… I don’t like the idea of “Start without me, I’ll catch up” … To reiterate… “par” starting time is 4:30 PM. If you can’t make it or know you will be late then CALL your opponents, your partner, and a substitute if necessary. It stays light until about 9PM so starting as late as 7:30 should be no problem (except for the anticipation of supper and family) Playing by yourself to “catch up” just isn’t part of the package. Please try to play together as a foursome.

Are any of you playing in the two club challenge? How about the “team championship?” I know plenty of you work or have other plans… perhaps expecting my VIP players to step up and advocate for MGC events in an effort to put more folks in the parking lot is folly on my part. Even if you don’t cough up the entry fees just telling us that you’ll be here helps tame my agita. See you Saturday?

Onto this week’s golf:

The Giant Killers were no match for the Hulls as low handicap Mitch posted a really tight 1 over par 30. Even Lou’s net 29 couldn’t coax more than 4 Points from Larry… The Hulls leap into first place.
Mike / John squeaked out a one point win as Mike went shot for shot with Mike Lor and took full advantage of MGC handicaps… The 7th hole proved decisive.
The 3rd hole played big for Skip / Barney giving them a 2 point lead that held up for a 1 point win in spite of Dustin (net 30) / Dan (net 29) solid play and 9th hole comeback
Mike Brayden has to be considered the hottest golfer in league – he played the first 7 holes at 2 under par before an 8th/9th hole +3 mini meltdown. He also won near pin on #3 for the second week in a row. Kenny’s 40 net 30 was no match and Ron couldn’t keep up with Joey’s 7 handicap strokes.
Lenny’s fall from 1st place was sudden – 2 “dreaded others” in his first two holes. Substitute John Zummo couldn’t keep up with sub Liam Millerr either as Andrew/Liam were Net 27 and 30 respectively
Both substitute Yvan and John Madeo played well – broke net par and taking full advantage of handicap strokes for a decisive win
