Men’s League 2024 Event 9

Well… thought I’d get Event 9 out to you all quickly – after all Julie’s birthday is coming up Saturday and so I’ll be tied up with who knows what and when for the next few days. Happy to say that the storms that threatened Wednesday play have yet to arrive and all matches were played – albeit it was a bit … hot and sticky… out there (believe me the clubhouse and especially the kitchen weren’t any better (more motivation to improve cash flows to put in a nice air to air heat exchanger i.e. air conditioning!

Yup… would have been nice to enter all of the scores and post them and the reports on Wednesday but for one problem… a rather gross scorecard error. I’ve emailed the offenders and will take this opportunity to remind / cajole / beg you to PLEASE fill out the official scorecard CAREFULLY and BETTER STILL KEEP A BACKUP SCORECARD to use to ATTEST the scorecard at the conclusion of the match… Yup that’s right there is a line on the scorecard for the SCORER and a line for whomever ATTESTED the score. If you don’t tell me who the scorer is and who attested the score as correct well then I have to reach out to the entire foursome with a nastygram asking for a correct card.

Both Andrew and Florencio shot net par on a day when Lou could have kept the A/C cranking in his Gator all afternoon – stepping out into the soup adversely affected the “Giant Killers”…
Chevy / John maintain a tenuous, 1 point grip on first place – both shooting net par with a close, 2 point win – John Madeo keeps his “Nick Malaxos Sandbagger of the Year” candidacy alive by shooting shot for shot with Chevy
Substitute Aarne beat substitute Jerrod by a point but it was Lenny’s hot hand that turned the tide
Dustin does his team proud as both he and partner Dan Ballard break net par as Kenny/Avg Barney manage to win only one hole and tie two for the match…
In the battle for lowest handicap supremacy, Mike Lor faced the setting sun but managed to eke out a 4.5-4.5 tie with red-hot Mitch. Gary did his part too resulting in a more manageable move up the standings ladder after the 3 point win.
Joey played to a net -1; maybe he’ll lose! another point off of his handicap, soon? Good Luck with the new baby, Marshall
