Mens League Week 11

It couldn’t have been the Tebuconazole fungicide I applied Tuesday morning – it must have been Mike Lor’s choice of pin positions (combined with my own men’s tee set ups) … or maybe it was the weather, which has to rank in this season’s top 10… sunny but not oppressively so, with temperatures and humidity levels that reminded me of the best late summer days of September… half the field played to net par or better!

There were birdies galore – check the Players report… there were four skins – three of which took a birdie: Jamie’s par on #4 took skin #1; Kenny Joseph’s bird on #6 was #2; Skip wins a skin for the second week in a row with his birdie on #8; and low gross Mike Lor finished strong with a birdie on #9. Fifteen players, $45 skins pot, $11.25 ea. Near pin pot was $30 … and while defending “Nick Malaxos Sandbagger of the Year” Bill Drew was on form (46 net 30) and posted the first entry at 45′ 2.5″ it was John Madeo who stuck his tee shot to 18′ 6″ to win the pot. Congratulations to all – let’s keep the high level of play through the rest of the season!

Dustin / Casey eke out a win and hang onto 1st place for another week. Their 6-2 wins on holes 6 and 7 created the margin of victory.
(still waiting for Tony / Lou to complete their round)
John / Lenny played red hot golf after dropping the first two holes and tying the third.
Wow… well played match… Gary / Tom win with net 30 / 28 … those 16 medal points … 2 strokes each (net) made up most of the margin.
Wow! Another match decided by the smallest of margins… The Lor’s net 59 edged out Mitch / Chevy by one stroke and resulted in a 14-2 Medal award and a 10 point win.
Andrew / Florencio spoil Christopher’s fine 37 net 23 by shooting a combined 2 under par.
Zach / Justin played fine golf, just not as fine as Skip / Bill who used their handicap strokes to great advantage (and also won the eighth hole straight up)
