Finished week 4 matches today – Sunday. It finally feels like Fall – cool and damp with a brisk breeze. Week 5 will be the last week of our Fall round robin… week 6 October 27 will be the final week of the 2021 season with #1 vs #2, #3 vs #4, and #5 vs #6 … dinner and awards to immediately follow.
Last week’s league leaders Jamie / Chris ran into a buzzsaw this afternoon as Ron / Kenny Joseph both played net par golf that neither Jamie nor Christopher could match … final score 68-22 for the underdogs
Mike Lor / Jonathan played to a super tight 3 point win over Gary / DanO … Gary / DanO both bogied the toughest little par 3 (#8) and Mike/Jon took the hole 7-0 to swing the match … 46.5-43.5 for the new league leaders.
Lou “the Giant Killer” Capello substituted for the big Canuck and his slow start didn’t help in his match against Justin Callahan, who shot net par. In the other match Lenny topped Dustin by two strokes but that wasn’t enough as Dustin / Justin rolled to a 53.5-36.5 win
The top 4 teams are separated by a total of 19 points; with two matches left it’s anybody’s chance to take it all… Wednesday’s weather promises to be in the mid 60’s so weather shouldn’t be an issue. Good luck everybody!!!
Skins / Near Pin got spread pretty thin this weak; and for the first time in memory a bogie won a skin! Five skins ($4.80 each) divided among three players – DanO takes two skins as did Mike Lor, Justin Callahan got the last one. And for yet another week… in fact for the third week in a row… Jamie Wilson wins near pin on #7 edging DanO (28’1″) with a 20’3″ effort to win $16.
