2021 Fall League Week 3 results

Halfway home… Three weeks played, three weeks to go. The weather held up after rain once again saturated the course with 2″ on Monday followed by 0.3″ Tuesday. This led to softer conditions throughout the course and rough that couldn’t be described any other way.

Jamie/Christopher extended their hold on first place with a dominant 68.5 – 21.5 win over Lenny/Derrick. The winning team only won 4 holes with the other 5 holes even – but that 4-0-5 hole scoring gave them all 15 match play points and they also took both medal (stroke) matches and the 12 points that go along with that.

Mike/Jonathan jump two spots into second place with a 67-23 win over Ron/Kenny. Mike (Master of the Meadows) Lor found a bit of a groove with a week’s best one over par 30 / net 26. Kenny managed a one stroke medal (stroke play) win over substitute Rich McGlynn to grab 4 medal play points for the team.

In the week’s closest match, and a match that was, in essence, played straight up (Dustin giving Gary 1 stroke)… Gary/DanO edged Dustin/Justin by just a single point: 45.5 – 44.5. The ninth hole made all the difference – To that point Dustin/Justin held a 31-25 lead… Gary/DanO each shot bogey 5’s to Dustin/Justin’s double bogey 6’s… The 7-0 hole win gave Gary/DanO the one point overall win.

Ten of you joined the skins/near pin (#6) contest… Once again Jamie Wilson takes the near pin (good for $20) with a 75″ effort: his two putt par was bested by his partner’s birdie but so sorry Christopher… you gotta be in it to win it. Winners ($10 each)… Justin had the only par on #3, Mike Lor birdied #5, and DanO birdied the toughest little par 3 in the Catskills… #8. Congratulations to all! Next week we’re playing on #7.
