Week 15 Men’s League

A little switch-a-roo at the top after James / Ken topped Larry / Mitch 54.5-34.5. Mitch/Larry had an OK week posting 35 net 31 / 42 net 33 respectively but James hung in against Mitch posting 39 net 32 and Ken carried the day shooting an outstanding 37 net 26! Dustin / Casey fell by the same 54.5 -34.5 score to Jamie / Chris pushing them back a spot to third place while Jamie / Chris remain in fifth place they’ve closed to within 5 points of fourth place Zach / Justin. Speaking of which… Zach / Justin played outstanding golf in beating Mike / Jonathan… they didn’t need the strokes they were given as they each beat their opponents gross (and of course net) … After losing 74.5 – 16.5 Mike / Jonathan have their work cut out for them if they want to climb out of 6th place.

On the near pin / skins front: Unlike last week when the skins pot was awarded to a single player, this week’s pot got divvied four ways… Daniel Eignor (who btw also grabbed near pin on #7 good for $34 + 28 = $62 !!) took a skin with the only par on #1. Harry (after grabbing the whole skins pot last week) Saslow birdied #2. Justin Callahan birdied #4. Tony Tanner birdied #9. Each skin was worth $10.50.

Next week James / Ken face red hot Zach / Justin; Mitch/Larry face Jamie/Chris and Dustin / Casey face Mike / Jonathan … our 7th place team (Gary / Daniel) and 8th place team (Brian / Harry) still might have a shot at climbing into the money with 3 matches left…

Gary/Daniel played well to win decisively over Brian/Harry … everybody played well in spite of a challenging course set up
Jamie held his own and Chris played well winning 5 of 9 holes and tying 2
Mike and Jonathan played their worst golf as both Zach (week’s best 34 net 25) and Justin played solid golf. Despite the bad scores neither Mike nor Jonathan picked up any handicap strokes for next week…
Mitch topped James in a close match but there was no stopping Ken’s 37 net 26 as James / Ken leapfrog into first place
Dan/Mike play great golf as Skip / Bill had to pull out Wednesday afternoon. Sadly Skip is indisposed for the remainder of the schedule… We’ll miss you!
Lenny played net par golf in overcoming Tony but Lou “the Giant Killer” Capello channeled his inner Nick Malaxos beating up the big Canuck with a startling, stellar, 44 net 26 … Lou keeps his 18 handicap for another week (for all you “sandbagger of the year” voters)
Ron / Ken played well… they held a narrow lead after 6 holes but dropped holes 7 and 8 despite shooting net 31 and 28 respectively and couldn’t overcome “the Replacements” net 30 and 26
