Our 14 team league is scheduled for a 13 week round robin – every team plays every other team once… At the conclusion of that I will manually schedule the final month of the season with the top five teams facing each other a second time. In the meantime we enjoyed great weather and conditions again (will the streak hold up or will we need the umbrellas on Wednesday?
Our top two teams maintained their spots once again; I’m looking forward to their head to head match in week 12… Zach played with substitute Tim Maxim who shot a 39 net 30 to win his half of the match while Zach dropped his match after shooting a 43 net 35… team points made the difference (18-9) vs Fred / Robert as they took the match by a final score of 53-37. Mitch and Larry Hull both won their individual matches en route to a 52.5 – 37.5 win over Jamie / Chris – the Hulls are only 14.5 points out of first place.
Ken Steinbuch / James Litaker are making steady upward progress … 6th place in week 3 … to 5th, 4th, and now 3rd place after their twin net 31s resulted in a 63.5-26.5 win over Tony Tanner / Lou Capello
Speaking of up and comers… Harry Saslow (37 net 28) / Brian Wheaton (35 net 25!!) made a statement Wednesday jumping up two places into 4th place when Mike Lor’s 1 hdcp cost him (34 net 33) against Harry and Jonathan Crane’s respectful 40 net 31 couldn’t come close to matching Brian… final score 71-19…
Casey / Dustin round out the top 5 again this week – they played a close match against Dan O/ Mike Rockwood coming out on top 53.5-36.5 … Dan O’ had another fine week posting 34 net 28 (his handicap falls another stroke to 5 next week!)
