2021 Men’s League Wk 1 results

Fourteen teams… Seven Matches… Six Scorecards? Please remember to turn in your scorecards at the shop when you’ve finished your match. No one won “near pin” as only Lenny stuck it on #8 (and made his putt, too) but you gotta be in it to win it. I’ve entered scores now for all 7 matches- reports to follow later today: and here are the scorecards for these matches:

Note: Daniel takes a 10 on #2 by local rule by not finishing the 2nd hole… play the hole out until your opponent concedes the stroke: every stroke counts. Thank Dustin for the condition or the roughs and for the beautiful, almost meditative, designs cut into the sand traps.
Mike Lor, “The Master of the Meadows” takes up right where he left off with 6 pars and 3 bogies. Will anyone be surprised if Fred’s handicap keeps going down? Welcome to the league Robert Skalan. Most weeks won’t be this tough.
Last fall’s newbie Taylor may take over for Jan Joroff – feel better soon Jan! Mitch and Larry post some typically fine numbers to post a fine week 1 point total
Harry plays lights out golf in week 1… Welcome back Brian! Lenny’s in fine form but partner Derrick Black failed to score a substitute (and I guess no one wanted to see the owner beat it around the course)
Welcome back Bill Reed – Zach and Justin throw their names into the hat for “Sandbagger of the Year” (good thing our handicaps are based on best 3 of last 5 rounds)
Skip and Bill get edged out by the “come back kids” James and Ken. Welcome back you two! Thank Bill Drew for loaning us a beautiful JD rotary lawn tractor that Dustin used to beat down the roughs and cause havoc among the dandelions.
Jamie and Chris took off – both posting net par and below rounds to hand Ron and new partner John Zummo a rough start… no worries John, it gets easier from here.

No One managed to hold the green on #8 so there’s a $32 carry over onto the 7th hole this week… If you failed to enter last week it will cost you $7 instead of $5 to take the big pot. You gotta be in it to win it, right Lenny?
